How long can I make my username?
The maximum length of username is 15 characters. The username is case-sensitive and can contain spaces.

Do I need to enter a real email address?
You must enter your real email address. Your password will be sent to this address and you will need this password to log-in. Be aware that some ISP email filters may deem the php generated email as spam. If this is the case or you haven't received your email, send me an email giving me your username and email address details and I'll fix the problem for you.

I submitted a review using a lower case letter for one word, but it is shown as being upper case in the search results, why?
All review fields will have their case converted regardless of how they've been inputted by the user. This is to prevent redundancy within the database and to ensure consistency. If you feel the formatting should change, don't hesitate to contact me with details.

I submitted a review but made a few errors, how do I correct them?
Once the review is submitted to the database there is currently no way for the author to directly edit their review. You can contact the site admin and they can correct any errors for you. Please provide as much information as possible so the review and error can be easily located.

What are the requirements for the various fields when submitting a review?

General

ARTIST: The maximum number of characters allowed is 40. You must enter a value for this field.

ALBUM: The maximum number of characters allowed is 50 (I'm aware of the immense Fiona Apple album title). You must enter a value for this field.

YEAR: This field must be entered in the form YYYY, for example 2004. You must enter a value for this field. Use Google if you don't know what the year should be.

GENRE: The genre's available were taken directly from the id3 genre listings and then modified. A list of these can be found by clicking on the word genre next to the box where the text should be entered. You must enter a value for this field for regular reviews and at least one for classical reviews.

RATING: Albums will be rated on a scale of 1 to 5. A selection must be made.
A brief guide:
1 = Utter bilge. How did this repulsive nonsense ever get into a recording studio, let alone leave it.
2 = Maybe one or two listen-able tracks, but on the whole not very good.
3 = OK. Listen-able, with some good tracks.
4 = Excellent.
5 = Truly magnificent! If others don't like this they need a taste in music implant.

REVIEW: The maximum number of characters allowed is 4000.

Specific To Classical

For the submission of reviews for classical albums we have a form that is a little more involved. This is because a classical piece of music can come in many guises. In order to help the reviewer find the particular performance in question, we have provided a more comprehensive set of fields.

ALBUM/WORKS: The maximum number of characters allowed is 40. You must enter a value for this field.

COMPOSER: The maximum number of characters allowed is 40. You must enter a value for this field.

PERFORMER, CONDUCTOR and ENSEMBLE: At least one of these fields should have a value.

PERFORMER: The maximum number of characters allowed is 40.

CONDUCTOR: The maximum number of characters allowed is 40.

ENSEMBLE: The maximum number of characters allowed is 40.

YEAR (recording date)(original release)(re-issue date): At least one of these fields needs a value. If you only have information for one year field, and you don't know where it should be, simply put it in the recording date field.

Why do my searches not return any results?
Either the search terms you entered are too restrictive or the review simply doesn't yet exist. If your search terms are too restrictive, try omitting data from one of the search fields.
